This is the unboxing of my new Dell Studio XPS 16. So far it has been awesome. It is very fast and very responsive. This video took about 11 minutes to export in 720p HD, compared to at least an hour on my old computer. This computer was not too expensive for what I got in it. @The0neaND0NLYAndrew You may have to get her to order it online. Dell offer only a tiny amount of their laptops in actual stores, as they want people to order it off their website.
That is only a problem with the 1645, which has the core i processors. The 1640 does not have that problem since the processors in the 1640 use less power.
For some reason, the BIOS on this laptop throttles it under load, using trick after trick to stop it taking more than 90w from the arguably inadequate power supply that comes with this machine.
At worst, it can throttle clear down to only 12.5% of its potential.There is a huge issue and dell has agreed to fix it that has been 4 months this system is preforming far less then a i5 processor if you want more info just google Dell throttle issue and it will bring up a150 page of users with the prob

the microfiber cover is a great asset. I use it exactly as a wipe, and I can easily slip my laptop in it when I’m done in and put it in my laptop-adapted backpack.
as a A+ certified tech. i would have to say this is the WORST laptop i ever had to deal with and a big waste of money!! right out of the box it blue screened all the time, so i updated all drivers and even installed other versions of windows and still blue screen of death. i thought i would give dell a try and it was the WORST investment EVER! do not buy anything from this company! EVER!

@cjandjenny Dell has now fixed this issue. Updated BIOS to A07 and request the 130W adapter free of charge.
