    this on web site said that the studio xps 16 was better but i think that was before the new mac book pros came out but if you do not have to much money to spend get this but if you wan save and get a better OS and boot camp it then wait and get the mac

    Very good review! I have an XPS like this one. I do have to say though, it does get hot even if i’m not using it for gaming. Does seem to have got hotter since i bought the laptop (august 2009) and think it’s time for a cooling pad! Very good screen but i get crackling subwoofer problem, maybe again it’s just a lot of heavy use

    Does the Xps from Best Buy comes with keyboard lit-back ?

  • Neelas12:

    and btw, what is that dock you have on the top of the screen?

    There are a few other laptops with 1920×1080 resolution (even a couple sub-17″ ones) but atm RGBLED is only offered by this one Dell model.

    RGBLED is evidently a special kind of backlit display with far more color accuracy and range than the WLED backlighting that many other laptops offer. It will definitely make the screen look much nicer than average laptop displays, but it’s not absolutely required unless you do graphics work. It’s pretty much the best laptop screen available at this time.

    I am looking for a laptop with a good display. It seems to be, that it would be either this one, or a Macbook Pro. Does anyone know the technical differences? It´s a TN panel, yes. Does the MBP also have that? What about this ‘RGBLED’?

    @helmemarti he has the 6 cell..9cell have a 10deg lift

  • bunxba:

    @Paddyh92 i want to know too

  • helmemarti:

    what is your battery life in power sacver with 9 cell batteruy?

  • notthecheatr:

    I’m no expert but I’ve been googling this and here’s what I’m getting:

    RGBLED is a high-end screen technology, so while it’s no doubt beautiful for watching movies and whatnot, it’s not necessary unless you do a lot of work with graphics in which case you’ll want it.

    i5 is a pretty good processor and while i7 is obviously faster and better for multithreading, if you’re a normal user or even a gamer it’s probably overkill.

    Since neither is strictly necessary for most people, it’s up to you.
