For some reason, the BIOS on this laptop throttles it under load, using trick after trick to stop it taking more than 90w from the arguably inadequate power supply that comes with this machine.

At worst, it can throttle clear down to only 12.5% of its potential. There is a huge issue and dell has agreed to fix it that has been 4 months this system is preforming far less then a i5 processor if you want more info just google Dell throttle issue and it will bring up a150 page of users with the prob

You’re or you are, as long as the grammar card is out. Be sure not to make grammatical errors when pulling the card!

  • CowboyDiplomacy:

You know you’ve hit the sweet spot when they pull out the grammar card :-) .

  • dmbfan07cb:

If you are going to be a smart-ass at least learn proper grammar. The comma before “but” is not needed and you should have typed “an” and not “a”. I know that grammar is not important online and you were merely typing a response but if your going to act like a smart-ass, at least go all the way.

  • CowboyDiplomacy:

This might amaze you, but computers get hot. it’s what happens when you put electricity through metal for a extended period of time.

  • CowboyDiplomacy:

No, the processor should overclock the CPU to meet the demand of any applications up to it’s max clock (3.06 GHz).

  • CowboyDiplomacy:

Yup, the leather is a $40 option.

  • MrDiofree:

    900$ off ? whaaat?

  • DragracingX:

the music is funny but its kinda annoying with this video

  • DragracingX:

yeah its true but it uses more batery life if you have turbo mode on tho.. which kinda sucks

  • ScaryWalrus:

i love thise laptop and i got 900 bucks off with a cupon!

  • xImCANADIANx:

    yes

  • yavin24:

Yeah, they now offer the Studio XPS without leather. To get it with leather is now $40 more. I was so happy when I found out, I don’t like the leather either.

  • TheGD1212:

well turbo boost mode takes it up to 3.06ghz so u kinda answered the question urself lol the core i7 blows away ALL of the core 2 duos easily so yes itd be fine
