@final1982 Sony is same. When you touch it, the finger prints remains and they dont go away that easily paticularly on the screen.
I ordered Sony F and sent it back after 2 days. The first computer i got was unbelivieably hot and noisy. I just switch on the pc and the fan started working and never stopped, so i sent it back and got another one after 4 weeks waiting. I sent this one back as well as the fan was so noisy and it was working irregularly even though when i was just on internet. no game or sth. The best thing about Sony F was the display. it was excellent. Now i am planning to get Dell XPS.
Dell of course, ordered it today
because when the name XPS comes, then whole other companies disappears, these laptop have something extra which SONY can’t give. i would say that SONY is just a expensive shit, not worth to buy.

The 4670 is slightly faster, just noticeable.
But the quality of the chip and drivers on Nvidia is better. Games are designed to be compatible with Nvidia, where as some ATI products have driver problems.
Its not a big enough difference to be significant in most cases. I recommend going with the the design and feel you like. Keep in mind though, Gateway and Dell has a history of horrible quality control.
Actually Windows is much better now for video editing because after 3 years there are GPU based video decoders/encoders which makes the process about 10x faster on Windows.
Macs still depend entirely on slow CPUs for a job that GPUs do much better. Maybe someday FinalCut will have GPU encoders/decoders.
My new Sony F doesn’t have the high pitch microphone problem.
I read somewhere the driver was replaced.
And besides someone on youtube came up with a solution.
The Dell has a better graphics card. Ergo, it is better for gaming.
I bought 2 of the Fs two and a half weeks ago for my business. From the get go both had crashed to blue screen when I opened Word. Then kept crashing and rebooting every couple of minutes unless I reset it from recovery partition. One now runs. A day later blue screen returned on the other until on the weekend it finally did not boot anymore. In contrast I’ve never had a problem w 4yr old my 17in Macbook Pro. Just my experience. Waiting for a replacement & keeping my fingers crossed.
The glossy finish on the Dell is a deal breaker for me. Fingerprint magnet.
Would choose the Sony.

so about issues with the sony vaio f I want to buy it but I’m still looking for some feedback and the only thing now is a high pichetd noise that someone allready sorted how deactivate… can you add something else??? + – everything helps
@ShiroiHusky the studio xps can run crysis at 1080p at the same fps on high settings. No lag. I have also seen an assassin’s creed video on about the same settings on it. there’s a video of the first on youtube. just search it.

I just returned my MacBook Pro 17″ to get a SONY VIAO F series…. these are lies they tell you that mac is better for photos. Photoshop (cs4) was built for pc and ported to mac. Ask any industry professional. The only thing I use my mac for is final cut pro.

@ShiroiHusky The Sony F is far from superior construction quality. I have seen Sony’s in the past and this is one of the worst. Even Sony owners are even saying it.
