@242v242 wtf 6 core? that only came out months ago for desktops… your not gonna be seeing gulftown on laptops for about 1-2 years bud, knowing dell, their slow to jump on the technology band wagon

Good Review on the laptop mate. I’m tempted to get this model instead of the 1645 but need to ask something. Whats your battery life like with the 9 Cell battery in it. I’m torn between this and the Sony Vaio S series laptops just for battery life. Can you give some times for things like light use, medium use and heavy use if you can. Cheers in advance

I have, the RGBLED is way better. Colors just pop off the screen. The WLED also is amazing but no where as nice as the RGBLED. You can order the RGBLED with core i5, its better for everyday use than the core i7.
Dell is OUT OF STOCK of RGBLED screens for the XPS 16! Oh well, ordered the HD 15.6 screen due to time constraints. Have you seen both screens in person? Is there a MAJOR difference?

How does this laptop perform while gaming, Is it plain sailing or does it lag like the 1640?

btw u need to “test drive” the optical drive.. it’s pretty crappy… my friend’s Dell Studio 15 has the same drive.. and it’s pretty unresponsive and crappy. So could you test it out ?

hey again matt, im looking to buy this laptop but i thought about the alienware m15x, what do you think about the alienware ? Is it worth the price? or its just a regular laptop that costs too much? i know his specs are a bit better but the price is rly big.
The 1647 does throttle but not with the latest bios + 130w adapter, however dell isn’t shipping the 130w adapters. You have to ask for it. I am lucky yo have both
Ok, I ordered this laptop and asked about the throttling. They told me it was only a problem with the 1645 (i7 version). So you suggest ordering the 130W adapter? And it works with the new BIOS?

Yes, get the leather. It really makes a difference when picking the notebook up. It provides a better grip.

I’m thinking of ordering the same specs approx. in the next few days. I just wanted to know if the 40$ extra for leather is really worth it? I’ve never experienced a laptop with leather on the lid, so Id like to get your opinion on that. Thanks man!!
Check youtube and you’ll find many peoplke have already played Crysis on the 4670, ya just gotta search.
It plays 1080P just fine as the native resolution is 1080p.
