2 days ago I received my Dell XPS Studio i7 – 6 GB trichannel RAM and Radeon 4850 … I was very happy when I first started it – and the full speeding fans at the beginning of the booting are ok in my oppinion, but this full speeding of fans happens quite often just while workin (or gaming) on the machine …. made this quick video just to give you an impression. I’ve tracked the fan speeds with speedfan and it seems that it is Fan1+2 that speed up to around 4000 for about 3-4 seconds. the machine gets loud as a vacuum cleaner!!! this happens occasionally and mostly after quitting a ressource-hungry app (game, video, 3d). BUT: it doesn’t happen every time! also when one of these apps is running the cooling fans gear up stepwise and this is also very bothering and simply too loud (as this isn’t good to hear in the clip). the machine itself is very fast and good, but this noise isn’t tolerable.
I did some research abou this computer and the fan noise is the only frequent complaint I came across, I owned mine for about 7 months now and it the best computer I ever owned, after 2 Gateways Im now a Dell fanboy. A solution for the fan noise if you do a google search about it you can buy a relativaly inexpensive wisper fan replacment. Mine doesnt run hot or freeze up. Its been running very good for what I paid, I had couple Vista problems but I upgraded it to Win 7 and it handles nicely.
stupid child, i have same system and its fucking awesome its super fast in everything and the sound is not disturbing at all. Stop complain and and be grateful for u have such system cuse u know what? many do not even have food to eat

lol? that graphics card will be able to run any game out on the market, maybe not at 60 fps on ultra high settings, but it will run games and be fine for games for a long time.

the graphcs card isnt good…. if you want gaming, upgrade it, it will be worth it in the long term i promise you even if it costs a lot now.

if this is the same one i have it comes with 2 ati radeon 4800′s i can play almost any game with full detail

the graphic yeah is bad and if u will use it for gaming it will not be that good
