Team Digit Unboxes a Dell STudio XPS 16.

Please feel free to ask me any question about my PC. Would I buy it again? No. Is it silent? Well if by silent you mean fan noises then it is silent UNLESS you are playing video games. My PC came with a ATI HD 5870 and whenever I play demanding video games the fan of the video card starts working. It’s loud, yes, but you are gaming so it won’t be an issue. The problem with this PC is the noisy hard drive. I swap the stock hard drive with a new one and even tough it was not as noisy the sound was still present. This PC has a faulty design making any hard drive loud as hell. I changed the hard drive for a SSD drive and, of course, the noise is gone. Check my other SSD video. DELL does NOT provide the best components and you are better off buying better components and then making your own PC. My configuration is: i7 920 6 gigas ram 750 Seagate Barrucada 7200.12, NOW replaced with a Intel X25-M G2 160g SSD BD reader and burner ATI HD 5870 Onboard sound BUT it use the HDMI output of the video card for both video and audio

My first unboxing video! (Sorry for the poor rendering, new to video editing/YouTube). System ordered on 27/08/09, arrived on 09/09/09. Paid £1199 including tax and delivery – there was a £400 discount scheme offered by Dell for this system at the time of ordering; there are still some major discounts on their site. Specs: 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 Processor 4GB DDR3 RAM 500 GB 7200rpm Hard Drive BD-ROM/DVD+/-RW Combo Drive (slot loading) Full HD 1920×1080 RGBLED 16″ Screen ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670 1GB Graphics Card Integrated WiFi/Bluetooth Integrated DVB TV Tuner Windows Vista Home 64bit (with Windows 7 Upgrade) Leave comments if you have any questions or want more information and I’ll answer them as soon as I can. Regarding the protrusion in the casing, I decided in the end that it didn’t bother me that much and I don’t think it’ll be a problem; I especially didn’t want to wait for Dell to send me a new laptop. Also, I now think it’s unrelated to the battery being a bit loose, although I’m not sure if that’s a problem that others have been experiencing.
